Why You’ll Love Homemade Blueberry Popsicles

First and foremost, the ingredients are wholesome and nutrient-rich—no artificial dyes or additives.

Creating popsicles at home allows you to manage the ingredients—no artificial colors or high fructose corn syrup, just genuine, fresh flavors. Additionally, it’s cost-effective, particularly if you have children (or grandchildren) who consume popsicles more quickly than you can replenish them.

• Quick and easy – only minutes to prepare before freezing.

• Healthy & wholesome – packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and probiotics.

• Family-friendly – kids and adults love them.

• Customizable – adjust sweetness, swap berries, or add mix-ins.

What if I don’t have popsicle molds?

If you’re ready to make blueberry popsicles, here’s a link to my favorite popsicle mold so you can create perfect, classic popsicles at home. But don’t worry if you don’t have a mold—small paper cups, or empty child size yogurt cups with wooden sticks work just as well, and ice cube trays make adorable mini popsicles for kids (or for bite-sized snacks).

Helpful Tips for Perfect Homemade Blueberry Popsicles

Blend or leave chunky: If you prefer a smooth popsicle, blend the blueberries until completely smooth. For added texture, pulse lightly to retain some whole blueberries.

Sweetness to taste: Depending on how sweet and in season your blueberries are, you may want to add a touch of sugar.

Popsicle molds: No molds? No problem! Silicone muffin liners and empty yogurt cups work just as well. Insert wooden sticks when the blueberry popsicles are partially frozen so they stand up straight. At Lia Rose Simply Home, we've got you covered! Whether you're using silicone muffin tins or saving those empty yogurt cups, you'll love this budget-friendly bag of popsicle sticks. Just click the highlighted text to shop.

Easy Release: To remove popsicles from molds easily, run warm water over the outside of the mold for a few seconds, then gently pull. This method works on yogurt cups, too.

Storage: Keep extra popsicles in a freezer-safe bag. They'll stay fresh for about 2 months.

Equipment You May Need

  • Blender – An affordable blender works perfectly for this recipe. I’ve had mine for quite a while now, and it’s still going strong—I love it!

  • Silicone Popsicle Mold – Flexible and reusable, these molds make it super easy to release your popsicles without any hassle.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

  • 1 1/2 cups Greek vanilla yogurt

  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

How To Make Homemade Blueberry Popsicles

  • Place the blueberries, yogurt, cream, maple syrup, and lemon juice into a blender. Blend for 60 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Taste and add a little more sweetener if desired.

  • Carefully pour the mixture into popsicle molds, using a spatula to scrape down the blender so none goes to waste.

  • Insert popsicle sticks into the center of each mold and freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight for best results.

  • When ready to enjoy, release the popsicles from the molds and let them sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes to soften slightly before serving. If you have trouble removing the popsicles, run the mold under warm water for a few seconds.
